The Polymer Business Development Managerís role is to provide analytical and project management support to drive the development of Novomerís polymer business.†† This position works closely with and collaborates with appropriate business unit personnel, the Ithaca R&D team, and manages Novomerís ďstableĒ of external technical and business consultants to create and execute a polymer business development strategy.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Monitor, research and analyze the business environment.† Provide data, analysis and recommendations based on key business drivers such as overall industry and market trends, customer and supplier assessments, competitor analysis and partner and alliances feedback.
  • Manage the relationship with Novomerís polymer and polyol technical and business consultants.†Leverage their expertise to guide Novomerís product development programs and interface effectively with potential partners and customers.†
  • As the primary interface with Novomerís joint development partners, manage the programs and ensure that they are aligned with the company strategy and progress at a pace and direction that maximizes the value to Novomer
  • Provide support to Senior Management Team as required through research providing data and analyzing options for acquisitions, partnerships and/or alliances as appropriate.
  • Identify new opportunities for Novomer to pursue in the area of Government grants, new business opportunities, complimentary technologies, etc.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in any combination of the following disciplines: Business Development, Strategic Development and Planning, Sales and Marketing, Technical Service, Product Development, or Consulting
  • Experience working with diverse cultures across multiple business locations
  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field such as Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
  • MBA preferred
