The Faculty of Science at Utrecht University consists of six departments, including Biology. The Faculty is home to 3500 students and nearly 2000 staff and is internationally renowned for the quality of its research. The Faculty's academic programmes reflect developments in today's society.

The Plant Ecophysiology group is in the department of Biology and studies how plants interact with their environment. Typically, we address questions about the physiological and molecular mechanisms as well as the functional consequences, of plant responses to environmental fluctuations. As a result, research projects in our group cross borders between various disciplines such as plant ecology, physiology, molecular biology and biochemistry.
