Location and team
DNV KEMA Global Business Line TIC (Testing, Inspection & Certifications) is esteemed as top service by the international world of energy. At the moment, TIC is mainly focused on performing tests and inspections on medium and high voltage components.
TIC offers specialized and innovative services and is organized in four teams including: High Power Laboratory (short circuit testing), High Voltage Laboratory (HV/MV testing), Inspections (Witnessing of HV/MV test), and Calibration & Metering (Measurement equipment calibration and testing).
The Inspections team is working by order of national and international electricity companies and manufacturers of energy goods. Our inspectors travel around the globe to witness tests at different locations, as well as perform various component oriented inspection activities as part of the “quality surveillance” cycle. Their work mainly consists of witnessing type tests and factory acceptance tests within the scope of quality assurance/quality control. As a Wind Turbines Inspector, you will be located in our head office in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and will be part of our Inspections team.
Tasks may include
As a Wind Turbines Inspector, your main tasks will be to witness the type tests of wind turbine manufacturer’s components. Furthermore, factory acceptance tests and process oriented assessments will have to be done. These tasks will always be completed by a written report. As inspector, you will give a pronouncement on behalf of DNV KEMA regarding the activities which have been carried out. The inspections take place at the manufactories or laboratories assigned by the manufactory or energy company. After a thorough training period, you will be able to perform inspections independently. Office duties will also be part of your job.
What we're asking
- A degree for a technical study at a higher educational or academic level;
- At least 5 years of working experience in the wind turbine industry;
- Knowledge of - and experience with - IEC and related standards;
- You have affinity with quality control in general;
- Excellent communication skills. You must be able to communicate fluently in English, both speaking and writing. (Speaking and/or writing in German and/or French is an advantage);
- Since you will represent DNV KEMA worldwide and independently, you will need to have a strong and flexible personality and persuasiveness;
- Work accurately and have an honest approach;
- Willingness to travel abroad regularly for multiple days or weeks. In consultation it may be possible to travel abroad for a longer period.
